‘Vande Bharat Express’ on Mumbai – Ahmedabad route likely from Navaratri; Trial conducted

Ahmedabad: The third ‘Vande Bharat’ express train is likely to start operating between Ahmedabad and Mumbai from Navaratri festival.
The trial run of the train took place at a speed of 130 km per hour from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in the presence of railway officials today on Friday- 9th September 2022. The train departed from Kalupur railway station during the trial run. The Vande Bharat express train had reached Ahmedabad on Thursday- 8th September 2022. The fare for Mumbai will be ₹ 3500 per passenger. The train will run 6 days per week.

The train will depart from Ahmedabad at 7.25 am and reach Mumbai at 1.30 pm. It will then depart from Mumbai at 2.40 pm and reach Ahmedabad at 9.05 pm. The commercial stoppage of the train will be only at Surat.
The train will travel a distance of 491 kms from Ahmedabad to Mumbai within 6 hours. It has a chair-car and executive chair car. The train has a capacity of 1128 passengers. This semi-high speed train has a 16-coach formation with air-conditioning, and provision for revolving chairs at 180 degrees. It has facilities such as an information system, CCTV camera, automatic sliding door, smoking detection alarm, and so on.

Vande Bharat Express trains include the Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) to prevent signal passing at danger (SPAD) cases and unsafe situations arising out of over-speeding and train collisions in station areas.
The Vande Bharat trains currently run on the routes of Varanasi- New Delhi and New Delhi- Katra.
