No raid conducted at AAP data office: Ahmedabad City Police

Sabarmati: Ahmedabad city Police have rejected the claims made by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders that the data centre office of AAP was raided for two hours in Ahmedabad. The city police has stated in a tweet that no raid was conducted.

AAP Gujarat chief Gopal Italia and another leader Isudan Gadhvi had stated in a tweet that a raid was conducted at the data management office of the party. The office is located behind the State party headquarters in Ashram road area. Italia alleged that the detection staff from Navrangpura police had arrived there. He alleged that persons named Hiteshbhai, Parasbhai and an unknown person had arrived at data office of the party. AAP president and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had also claimed about the raid in his tweet. AAP leader Isudan Gadhvi had stated that the raid was conducted for 2 hours and the police found nothing during the raid. Italia and Gadhvi said there was no CCTV camera installed at their data office premises. They demanded that nearby bank’s CCTV camera data should be checked and the mobile locations of two alleged police men should also be checked.

However, Ahmedabad police has denied the claims about the raid. They stated, “The news about the raid by police at Aam Aadmi Party office were received by social media yesterday. The city police have not conducted such raid.”

Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has meanwhile described AAP allegations as publicity and attention stunt and a sheer lie. Party’s media cell convener Yagnesh Dave said that the Police Commissioner’s statement should be believed that no raid was conducted. Dave said no one knows about existence of such data office even.
