ACB Gujarat nabs another Talati for taking bribe; Middleman also held

Vadodara: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat Police has nabbed talati of Narkhadi gram panchayat in Nandod taluka of Narmada district along with a middleman in a bribe case involving the sum of Rs one lakh.

The complainant has agricultural land in Narkhadi in Nandod taluka. The complainant supervises and manages other works related to land. The rooms with iron shed were built in the land to put the items of farming including seeds and fertilizers and for accommodation of labourers. An application was filed in Narkhadi gram panchayat to allot house number and give other approvals for the need of an electricity meter. The accused talati Nitaben Mokambhai Patel demanded bribe of Rs one lakh from the complainant for the same. She asked to pay the bribe to the middleman Maheshbhai Amrutbhai Ahjoliya through a courier to Gandhinagar.

The complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the bribe. The accused middleman was found accepting a bribe of Rs 1,00,000 via two others from a courier office in Gandhinagar, after talking to the accused talati on call. Both accused are detained. DeshGujarat
