Gandhinagar: Its 2022, and the Modi magic is not only very much intact, but also growing bigger than ever. It’s fascinating to see that there is zero anti-incumbency in Gujarat. Gujarat has always witnessed a strong congress opposition; however, it seems as though this election even congress has lost its hope. Rahul Gandhi is on a national outreach yatra, yet not entering Gujarat.
With no real threat from the opposition and Gujarat firmly behind Narendra Modi ji, assembly elections 2022 for Gujarat seems to the smoothest win so far.
Last time around, Congress launched an aggressive campaign against targeting Gujarat’s Vikas model, however, could not manage to identify any flaws. Instead, they ended up concentrating on the Thakur, Dalit and Patel Divisions by betting on three youth leaders as an entry point into the assembly. The fight went in full throttle from both ends, but again BJP was declared victorious yet another time. Since then, all local body elections in Gujarat have been largely won by BJP barring some places here or there.
For BJP and especially Narendra Bhai, Gujarat is one of the reasons for his energy and motivation. This is the 20th year of Modi ji as either a CM or PM. Over the past 20 years, children who saw Modi ji transform Gujarat right in front their eyes, have become his primary voters.
Gujaratis travel a lot and not one Guajarati will be willing to settle anywhere else in India other than their dear Gujarat. Gujaratis know the status they hold in heart of #Modi ji. And therefore the state keeps showering their love back on him.
Today Congress is confused and haphazardly looking for issues which can form the basis of their campaign. Be it a natural calamity like COVID or flooding or even the cow disease, the Government of Gujarat has always delivered and been seen among people. The safety security of people of Gujarat is ranked among the best in country.
Today, Gujarat boasts of over 100 universities established as per international standards. The school enrollment percentages have never been higher. The state has rigorous monitoring rooms to supervise the education and health infrastructure. With a population of more than six crore people, Gujarat is considered amongst states in the country vis-à-vis access to health facilities.
Each topic hailed by the opposition seems to be based on complete fabrications. Gujarat, a land which previously dealt with water scarcity issues now has access to free-flowing water from the Naramada river, thanks to the efforts and commitment of the then CM Narendra Modi Ji.
Last year, Gujarat was entrusted with a new team thriving with energy and new ideas. Indeed, it was a bold movie to infuse energy in the state government and leverage the experienced hands to strengthen the party.
As for the opposition, on one end there is a Congress which wants to have a go at this year’s assembly elections, but they haven’t really geared up and seem to be rather confused in terms of issues they want to stand behind. Then on the other end, there is a new entrant AAP, which is infamous for misuse of public money across their state governance systems in Delhi and Punjab to fund massive advertising campaigns along with offering guarantees on freebies.
AAP always creates a lot of drama and shows as if its winning and instills a cloud of positivity around itself. This same technique of freebies, halla-bulla and drama failed across the board in Goa, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka in such a bad manner than in most seats they even lost deposit. They seem to be banking upon their recent Punjab win and anti-incumbency sentiment which seems to be a major miscalculation on their part. The grave mistake they made is to try and fool the people of Gujarat.
Gujarat has a unique culture. Here, word of mouth plays a major role. People take decisions as a community and if they see you as someone dupe the state or trying to lure the people of Gujarat, they will never trust you. AAP made some fundamental mistakes in their short-lived journey in Gujarat. In the over enthusiasm of getting more seats and to access the power foothold in Gujarat, they seemed to have crossed all limits. They forgot Gujarat is not a Punjab or a Delhi. In-fact the habit of AAP to project Kejriwal and Sisodia as super honest public servants has failed miserably. Now, with series of corruption charges that AAP must battle against, they have started a vicious social media campaign in Gujarat. Not realizing that such tactics will not work on the people of Gujarat who are more in sync with reality and extremely conscious of the future of their culture.
As elections approach, one can only see pouring of love across every corner of Gujarat for Modi ji. But as Modi ji always says and does, lots of things are yet to be done in Gujarat. Gujarat needs to touch even higher heights, than it already has.
Gujarat must, therefore, vote for a double engine government. By double engine we mean both PM and CM is from same party. This gives an added advantage and accelerates the course of development. Also, given Gujarat is a border state, Gujarat is a border state, threats from outside are always looming. A tough administration under BJP is a necessity for the state or it might slip back towards riots and destruction as seem in the pre-Modi era.
Congress and AAP are desperate for power, however their mission is not Gujarat’s development but to access the riches of this state and fill their personal kitties. Delhi is not a full state and Punjab is already in loans, so AAP is eying the treasury of people of Gujarat. Similarly, Congress has been written off coupled with instability in Rajasthan, and with Maharashtra out of their hands, they need access to the rich state of Gujarat.
The people of Gujarat who have seen water scarcity, insecurity of life and property, and hard times know that Modi ji is their only hope in this mad world of politics.
