Gujarat Congress finalizes 50 candidates and conveys them to start preparations

Gandhinagar: It is learnt that the Gujarat Congress has decided candidates for 50 seats out of total 182 seats for upcoming state assembly election, and convey all of them to start preparing for election.

Congress party has selected the candidates for the 50 seats in the state but their names will not be declared currently, as per well places sources within the party.

Congress had asked its district units to send the names of prospective candidates willing to contest for various seats. Congress had undertaken scrutiny of the names received from the district level. Out of those names, the candidates for 50 seats were selected. The 50 selected candidates includes current MLAs, former leaders and new leaders from the party. Party’s senior leader CJ Chavda has publicly announced that party has given him the ticket to contest from Vijapur seat in North Gujarat.
