Ahmedabad-Vadodara electric bus service resumes

Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad-Vadodara electric bus service has resumed for the passengers.
Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) had started electric bus service connecting Ahmedabad and Vadodara in the second week of March 2022. The service was closed in August 2022. It has resumed from Diwali festivals now.
A total of two electric buses were started in the second week of March 2022 on the Vadodara-Ahmedabad route. One of them, with a cost of Rs 1.30 crore, has a capacity of 34 passengers. Its speed is 80 kms per hour. The fare is Rs 167 per passenger. Whereas, the fare for Ahmedabad- Vadodara volvo is Rs 250.
The charging station for electric buses is in Makarpura depot in Vadodara and in Krushnanagar bus station in Ahmedabad. Three-hour charging is required for a 300 kms run.
State Transport had put two buses in the beginning, which made four trips. The electric buses are now increased to eight, which will make 16 trips daily.
