PM Modi to kick off development works worth ₹885.42 Cr at Jambughoda

Gandhinagar: During his 3-day visit to Gujarat from Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Jambughoda, a tribal area of Panchmahal, on November 1 and address a public meeting. He will gift various development projects worth ₹858 crore to this region. PM will also dedicate and lay the foundation stone for developmental projects for education, labour & employment, as well as the health sector.

PM had urged for realising Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of rural development in order to make them Aatmanirbhar (self-sufficient). In this regard, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has enabled the infrastructure development for various sectors accelerating the growth of several villages and districts.

PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the administrative block of the Gobind Guru University (GGU) built at the cost of ₹52.61 crore in Jambughoda along with two primary schools. Besides, he will inaugurate the projects of Godhra Medical College and Kaushalya- The Skill University built at the cost of ₹686 crore along with the development works of Godhra Kendriya Vidyalaya’s building. In addition, he will also lay the foundation stone of various academic block buildings of GGU worth ₹122.18 crore.

GGU to be first in Gujarat to have Green Administrative Block

During the COP26 conference in Glasgow last year, PM announced Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE), a global movement, to protect and preserve our environment. He had called upon the international community to lead LiFE as an international movement. Recently, he also emphasised on the principle to reduce, reuse, and recycle to save our planet. Aligning itself with this, GGU has decided to build a Green Building on its campus.

GGU will be the first state university in Gujarat to have an Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) certified Green Administrative Block which will be an energy and water-efficient building with better indoor environment quality, thereby reducing operation costs by 30-40 per cent. It will benefit 1.50 lakh students, 1,500 professors, 838 PhD students, 239 colleges, and eight buildings.

Inauguration of Primary Schools in memory of Freedom Fighters

In memory of the brave martyrs of the freedom struggle, Raja Roop Singh Nayak and Saint Joria Parameshwar, primary schools have been built in their hometowns Dandiapura and Vadek. Moreover, memorial statues of Saint Joria Parameshwar at Vadek, eight km from Jambughoda, and Martyr Roop Singh Nayak at Dandiapura, 10.5 km from Jambughoda will be inaugurated by the PM. Besides constructing schools, to boost tourism in the region, the story of martyrs will be narrated through audio-visuals for the visitors. Green grass path-way, eco-friendly garden, outdoor sitting facility, etc have also been sanctioned.

PM to inaugurate Godhra Medical College (₹522 Cr) and Kaushalya – The Skill University (₹164 Cr)

It is noteworthy that Kaushalya – The Skill University was established by the Government of Gujarat in 2021 with the aim to impart smart skills among the youth. Its campus will be developed on an area of 55,816 square metres at Shilaj. In addition, this university has set a target of imparting training and skills to three lakh youth in the coming 10 years. Students will also be given an opportunity for an apprenticeship, on-the-job training, and placement.

With the establishment of GMERS Medical College and Hospital, the people of the Panchmahal district will get access to modern health facilities. While youngsters will get an opportunity to study MBBS and reduce the shortage of doctors in the region. The hospital will be built on 20 acres of land, with 100 seats for MBBS students.
