AAP declares Isudan Gadhvi as CM candidate for Gujarat Polls

Ahmedabad: Aam Aadmi Party Chief, Arvind Kejriwal today announced that the party’s national office bearer Isudan Gadhvi will be the party’s chief ministerial candidate for the Gujarat elections happening next month.

In a press conference in Ahmedabad, Kejriwal claimed that Isudan Gadhvi has received 73 percent votes in a referendum conducted by the party. AAP has chosen Gadhvi on the basis of suggestions submitted by the people of Gujarat, Kejriwal further claimed.

Other than the former journalist Isudan, AAP state Chief Gopal Italia and general secretary Manoj Soratihya were also in the race for this.

Gadhvi hails from a farmers’ family in Dwarka district’s Pipaliya village, which accounts for 48 percent of the state’s population. His mother and wife were also present at the program.

After being announced as the CM candidate Isudan said ” If I cannot do in 5 years what has not been done in 75 years, I will leave politics.”

He also said, ” if AAP wins I will not only become Chief Minister the whole 6.5 crore population of Gujarat will become Chief Minster.”

It also seems that announcing the CM face is also a campaign strategy of Aam Aadmi Party as it is not going to come to power as per all the pre-poll surveys that have been released.

While AAP is trying to benefit through this announcement, it is also noteworthy that Gadhvi was arrested after a forensic science laboratory (FSL) report confirmed the presence of alcohol in his blood form samples taken on December 20, just after his detention from the State BJP headquarters Kamalam where he had allegedly misbehaved with the women BJP workers. However rejecting the FSL report, Gadhvi alleged that his forensic report was fudged and he was ready to undergo a lie-detector test to prove that he is a teetotaller.

Another instance that is in discussion after the announcement of Isudan as CM candidate was a slip of tongue by Gopal Italia when he said “today I want to tell anguish as Isudan is chosen as CM Candidate.” After this people on social media were discussing that Italia was feeling pain as he himself was in the race for candidature.
