Bhathena flyover to complete ahead of schedule: Municipal Commissioner

Surat: The bridge under construction in Bhathena area of Surat is likely to be dedicated 3 months earlier than its scheduled date of completion of works.

Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal has started a phase-wise visit of 9 zones of the city from Thursday. She ordered to undertake a campaign for health-related works in slum pockets after a round in the Limbayat zone. She also did a site visit of an under-construction flyover bridge connecting Kharwar Nagar- Parvat Patiya. She reviewed the construction work and asked the contractor to present a work schedule of it.

She gave instructions to complete the bridge under construction at Bhathena Junction 3 months in advance, by March 2023. Around 50 percent work on the bridge being constructed at Bhathena is completed. The bridge is being built at a cost of Rs 37.33 crore. The scheduled time limit of completion of the bridge was till June 2023. Twelve girders are launched on the bridge pillar and 31 girders are ready. DeshGujarat
