Congress releases manifesto for Gujarat polls 2022

Gandhinagar: The main opposition Congress party today released its manifesto for the Gujarat elections 2022. The party has promised gas cylinders for Rs. 500, waiver of power bills for up to 300 units, free education to girls from primary to Ph.D., 25 percent fee cut, free medical treatment in govt facilities for up to Rs. 10 lakh, free accident insurance of Rs. 5 lakh, 20 percent cut in all taxes levied by the State government, waiver of professional tax, Rs. 2,000 monthly pension to divyang, widow, needy women, and senior citizens, The party has also announced waiver of debt of farmers for up to Rs. 3 lakh, waiver of electricity bills of farmers, Rs. 5 per liter subsidy to milk producers, 10 lakh jobs, removal of the contract system, Rs. 3,000 allowances to unemployed persons, Rs. 4 lakh assistance to each family over Covid death, a meal for Rs. 8 under the title of Indira Rasoi Yojana and more.

Congress has promised that if elected to power, it will rename Narendra Modi stadium of Motera as Sardar Patel stadium in the first cabinet meeting itself. The party will also stop the ongoing works of Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram development project. Plantation of 25 crore trees, annually 5000 km of new roads, the monthly cycle of electricity bills, 2 kv solar panel subsidy, and more. The manifesto runs into 60 pages.
