Farmers in four talukas of North Gujarat happy with Hathmati water during Rabi

Gandhinagar: The farmers of Himmatnagar, Prantij, Gandhinagar and Dahegam talukas will get irrigation water from Hathmati reservoir during Rabi season.

Hathmati was 100 percent full due to sufficient rain in the Monsoon season. It was overflowing for over 1.5 months. The Hathmati vier also received water from it. There is 160 cusecs water stored in Hathmati river. The farmers will get irrigation water for 5 months in the Rabi season from it. They will get water from November 2022 to March 2023.

The administration will release 300 cusecs of water in various zones, including 100 cusecs in A zone, 200 cusecs in B and K zone. The water will be released on 17th November first. The farmers across 5500 hectares of 24 villages will benefit through a 24-km long canal in A zone. The farmers across 8000 hectares in 35 villages will benefit from B and K zone 80-km long canal.
