Vadodara: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat Police has nabbed Prakash Natwarlal Modi, a class-one officer working with the Government of Gujarat, who is the District Education Officer (DEO) of Mahisagar district, in a bribe case involving the sum of Rs. 20,000.
Accused Prakash Modi works in the district headquarters in Lunawada and lives in the Nava Naroda area of Ahmedabad. He was nabbed taking a bribe at his office in Lunawada on the 9th of January.
According to the details shared by the ACB, the complainant is the principal in Nani Sarsan village based Bhomanand Vidhyalay. As a newly appointed teacher, Shwetaben Chaudhary appeared to join the job. The principal had done the procedure to take Shwetanebn’s employee number and sent the papers in this connection to the DRO office. However, an employee number of Shwetaben was not allotted.
When the principal paid a physical visit to the DEO office, the accused DEO demanded Rs. 20,000 in bribes to do so. The principal spoke to the teacher Shwetaben about this. However Shwetaben didn’t want to pay a bribe, so she contacted the ACB police station in Lunawada. Based on this a trap was arranged and the accused officer was nabbed while taking Rs. 20,000 bribe after the related talk. DeshGujarat
