January 25, 2023
Gandhinagar: In a major relief to multiplex owners ahead of Pathaan’s release today, Vishawa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have withdrawn their protest against the release of Shahrukh Khan’s film on Tuesday.
The General Secretary of Gujarat VHP, Ashok Raval told the media that after the censor board made at least 40 changes to the film before its release, the concerns of VHP and Bajrang Dal have been addressed. Therefore, the protest against the Movie Pathaan is called off.
He also congratulated the workers of both outfits for their successful struggle to protect the religion and culture.
Both VHP and Bajrang Dal were protesting the release of the film because of the song ‘Besharam Rang’ that features Deepika Padukone in Saffron Bikini. Though the protest is now called off after objectionable scenes were removed, the cinema halls and multiplexes released the film under police protection. DeshGujarat
