Modasa: Mining mafias attached a GPS gadget to a car of the Mining department’s raiding vehicle in order to get live tracking of the movement of the raiding vehicle, apparently to evade raids on illegal mining activities.
On the 4th of February, Aravalli district mines and mineral department official Nilesh Patel was going from Faredi to Jesvadi and Surajpur to Dhansura in a government-allotted car of the department. He didn’t spot even a single truck carrying minerals on this route. While he was conversing with another official, the driver informed that two days back when the car was given to the garage for service, a GPS system was detected attached to the car. The officers in the car immediately asked to stop the car and started probing the car for the presence of a GPS live tracking system. Soon, a gadget was found attached close to the Diesel tank. The gadget had also a sim card in it for live tracking of vehicle.
A police complaint has been filed in this regard against the unidentified persons in Modasa Town Police Station. DeshGujarat
