Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today informed that under its Atmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries, it has signed 18 MoUs involving a proposed investment of Rs. 9,852 crores.

The Government in a note stated that MoUs signed today in presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will generate 10,851 employment opportunities. Out of the total, Rs. 5,733 crore MoUs involve the partnership of foreign investors.

The MoUs will bring 3 industrial units in Vadodara, 2 in Bhayla in Ahmedabad, 2 in Sanand, 4 in Dahej, Saykha and Palej in Bharuch, 2 in Palsana and Sachin in Surat, 1 in Kutch, and 2 in Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha. According to the State government note, the industrial plants under these MoUs shall be operational by the year 2025.

The Government has in its note shared the details of some of the proposed plants. Zolva village in Palsana taluka of Surat will witness Rs. 2,533 crore investment by Garden Silk Mills Pvt Ltd for manufacturing of Yarn, draw Texturized yarn, polyester chips, and PET chips. This facility will generate employment for 1450 persons.

Asian Paints will invest Rs. 2100 crore at Dahej in Bharuch district and set up a VMV manufacturing plant which shall generate employment for 350 persons.

Mankind Lifescience Pvt Ltd will invest Rs. 1100 crore and generate employment for 1,000 persons. The sectors of investment for which MoUs were signed today include manufacturing, chemicals and agrochemicals, pharma and pharma equipment, hydrogen, EV, etc.
