Private Luxury buses to operate from outside the city limits of Surat

Surat: All private buses operating on long-distance routes connecting Surat will operate from outside of the limits of Surat city from 21st February. The buses will operate from Valak Patiya which is located outside the city. The decision has been taken by the Surat Luxury Bus Operator Charitable Association.

Though the city Police have permitted private buses to operate within the city from 10 pm to 7 am period, the bus operators have formed an association and decided to operate from outside the city round the clock in protest. Due to increasing traffic issues, the City Police have barred private luxury buses to operate in the city during the 7 am to 10 pm period. However, the city police have permitted operations in the city limits from 10 pm to 7 am. The bus operators have decided to protest the decision as they want to continue to operate within the city for all hours. They have decided to protest against the decision by operating from outside the city round the clock.
