13 km stretch of Indo-Pak border in Kutch to get smart fencing
February 22, 2023
Kutch: The central government will soon erect smart fencing along a 13 km stretch of the India-Pakistan border in the Kutch district to prevent illegal infiltration, smuggling, human trafficking, and cross-border terrorism, a Border Security Force (BSF) official said.
The official stated that the smart fencing will integrate various technologies, such as sensors, networks, and surveillance, to improve situational awareness and enable swift decision-making.
While BSF soldiers have been patrolling the borders around the clock, Pakistan has not constructed similar fences. However, Pakistan has been encouraging civilians to enter its border area from a 3 km radius, which could pose a challenge to India’s border security.
