Additional 2.27 MAF irrigation water for Gujarat farmers this summer

Gandhinagar: The farmers in Gujarat will get an additional 2.27 million acre-ft (MAF) of irrigation water in the ongoing summer, said Rushikesh Patel, Spokesperson minister of the Government of Gujarat in his weekly cabinet briefing here.
He said the Narmada Control Authority has allocated 11.27 maf of water this year instead of 9 maf, following which the farmers in Gujarat will get the additional volume of water for irrigation.
The minister added that the dams have group water schemes, will get water from sources other than Narmada for ease of sowing. The minister further added that the government has made sufficient arrangements for drinking water supply in Summer. DeshGujarat
