Vadodara-Ektanagar train services resume after 8 months suspension

Vadodara: Western Railway’s Vadodara railway division has resumed train services from Pratapnagar railway station in Vadodara to Statue of Unity fame Ektanagar railway station after an eight-month suspension.

According to officials, the Pratapnagar-Ektanagar-Pratapnagar passenger special train began operating again on Monday as the track restoration work between Chandod and Ektanagar railway sections was completed.

The train services were suspended in July last year when the tracks between Dabhoi and Ektanagar railway stations were washed out. Initially, the services were not resumed due to waterlogging and track damage, but officials have since cited commercial reasons for the delay, with passenger traffic declining since the memu train service was launched.

The passenger special train will run twice daily, departing Ektanagar railway station at 9.50 am and 1.55 pm, while the Pratapnagar-Ektanagar passenger special will depart Pratapnagar at 12.15 pm and 3.25 pm. DeshGujarat
