Gandhinagar: A record-breaking registration of over 21 lakh students is reported for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) this year in India.

NEET is conducted at the national level for admission to Under Graduate (UG) medical, dental, ayurvedic, and homoeopathy courses after completing class 12th in the science stream. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct NEET at centres across the country on May 7, 2023. Approximately 81 thousand students from Gujarat have registered for NEET.

The registration process was closed on April 6th. However, due to student complaints regarding the registration process, the NTA reopened the registration window from April 12th to 15th. The number of students registered for the exam is the highest in all the years since NEET began, with over 21 lakh students registering this year as compared to over 18.72 lakh registrations in 2022.
