Prabhas Patan: The closing ceremony of Saurashtra Tamil Sangam will be held on Wednesday- 26th April at Prabhas Patan Somnath. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually address the closing ceremony at 10.30 am tomorrow.

Saurashtra Tamil Sangam, which started on 17th April, will conclude on 26th April. A large number of locals of Somnath, Prabhas Patan, Veraval and Saurashtra migrated to Tamil Nadu through sea during the invasion by the Islamic invaders on Somnath Mandir centuries ago.

The then-king of Tanjore allowed Saurashtra migrants to reside in his territory. Saurashtra Tamil Sangam was held for such migrants originally from Saurashtra who shifted to Tamil Nadu. Over 3 thousand Tamilians originally from Saurashtra joined Saurashtra Tamil Sangam within ten days. DeshGujarat
