SpiceJet suspends Ahmedabad to Goa flight service
May 11, 2023
Ahmedabad: SpiceJet has suspended the Ahmedabad-Goa flight operation likely for a month, starting Wednesday.
The move comes a day after three lessors requested the aviation regulator, DGCA, deregister three of the airline’s planes. The airline’s three lessors, namely Wilmington Trust SP Services, Sabarmati Aviation Leasing, and Falgu Aviation Leasing, have each requested the deregistration of one aircraft, as per information available on the regulator’s website.
Several of the budget carrier’s aircraft are currently grounded for various reasons. According to an aircraft tracking website, SpiceJet has a fleet of 67 aircraft, with 37 in operation and 30 not in service as of May 3.
Meanwhile, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) had already issued a notice to SpiceJet on May 8 after an aircraft lessor filed a petition seeking the initiation of insolvency resolution proceedings against the private carrier. DeshGujarat
