Anand based person withdraws sponsorship of The Kerala Story free movie show; Apologizes to Muslims on videos

Anand: Videos of Anand-based Mubarak Tailor Shop owner Dharmesh Bali have gone viral on social media, in which he apologizes for sponsoring the free shows of the Hindi film The Kerala Story.

In one of video viral on Twitter, the owner of Mubarak Design Studio can be seen saying: Our community’s president is here. I have called him to my shop. I had no idea about this film, and neither did he. I had become a sponsor. I have dropped the idea of a film show. I don’t want to show this film in my community. I don’t want to show this movie to our daughters and sisters. Since Abid ji…. My community members had come to me and so I had sponsored it. But now it has been canceled. Please don’t make phone calls to me. I have apologized. Please my request to my Muslim brothers is that continue to give me love the same way you have always given.

In another video on Facebook, the same person can be seen giving apologies again for sponsoring the shows of The Kerala Story. He says – I want to apologize, that on behalf of my community, this movie I hadn’t seen, and if my Muslim brothers if I have committed mistake then forgive me, I hadn’t thought that this would happen, but as I received calls … My circle has Muslims and my customers are Muslims, so if someone is hurt, I apologize, I have removed it from Insta and Whatsapp. On behalf of Mubarak, I seek apology of my Muslim brothers.

In one more video, Dharmesh Bali, owner of Mubarak sitting between two Muslim persons says his staffers are also Muslims.

The Instagram account of Mubarak Tailors is no more available. According to the information available, Dharmesh Bali, owner of Mubarak Tailors had sponsored a free show of The Kerala Story movie for 18+ age women of Shri Gurjar Sorathiya Darji Gyati Yuvak Mandal. The women were offered free popcorn and a cold drink and asked to register by 14 May.

Reacting to social media posts regarding the same, a number of Muslims gave a boycott call against Mubarak Tailors and also started a movement to report the Instagram profile of the brand.
