Gandhinagar: As many as 14 Gujarati youths who set out for a motorcycle trek from Manali-Kullu in Himachal Pradesh are safe.

The Relief Commissioner of Gujarat, Mr. Alok Pandey, has provided details about this and mentioned that these Gujarat youths embarked on a motorcycle trek in Himachal Pradesh. However, they could not be reached due to the flood conditions resulting from heavy rains in Kullu-Manali over the past two to three days.

When this matter was brought to the attention of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, he instructed the state’s relief commissioner system to take care of the situation concerning the youths.

Following the Chief Minister’s directions, Relief Commissioner Mr. Alok Pandey contacted Himachal Pradesh’s Relief Secretary Mr. Sharma over the telephone, requesting assistance and complete details regarding these 14 youths.

The Relief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh instructed the system to take immediate action and ensure the well-being of these youths. Late on Wednesday evening, the Relief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Sharma, contacted the relief commissioner of Gujarat and stated that due to the rainy conditions and power outage in Kullu over the last few days, these youths had been out of contact.

The Relief Secretary of Himachal also mentioned that the relief-rescue system of Himachal Pradesh has received information confirming the safety of these youths. He assured that arrangements would be made to bring them back once the situation begins to improve.
