Rajkot: A 73 acre land in Rajkot district at Anandpar-Sokhda has been selected by the district administration to set up the proposed imitation jewelry park, it is learnt.

Rajkot is among five districts nationwide famous for making of imitation jewelry. The other districts are Jaipur, Mumbai, Kolkata and Machilipatnam.

Rajkot based imitation jewelry business is pegged at around Rs. five thousand crore, benefitting four lakh families an per an estimate. There are over 15,000 units of imitation jewelry manufacturing along with over 1300 showrooms. DeshGujarat
