Rajkot: The long-awaited flight between Rajkot and Indore commenced its operation today. An Indigo flight landed at Rajkot airport from Indore at 8:20 am this morning. Subsequently, the flight took off from Rajkot back to Indore.

The number of flights has been on the rise at Rajkot airport in recent times. Indigo has initiated a direct flight to Indore from today, ahead of the full operationalization of Rajkot International Airport in Hirasar. The inaugural flight from Indore was welcomed by a water cannon salute upon landing.

The daily non-stop flight would depart from Indore at 6:30 am and will land at Rajkot airport at 8:20 am. The return flight’s take-off timing from Rajkot is 11:55 am, and it will reach Indore at 2:00 pm.

Three new flights were scheduled to launch from Rajkot Airport in July. However, the Rajkot-Indore flight could not commence at that time; nevertheless, it has been successfully launched today. Last month, on July 3, a new flight from Pune to Rajkot was also inaugurated.

The benefits of these new flights extend not only to Rajkot but also to businesses throughout Saurashtra. Previously, businessmen and students had to opt for flights to Pune and Indore through Mumbai, resulting in various inconveniences.
