Ahmedabad: The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL) has handed over the management and maintenance of the Sabarmati Sports Complex to Adani Sportsline Private Limited, which emerged as the winner of the bid in July.

The Sabarmati Riverfront sports park, spanning 47,000 sq m on both the east and west banks of the Sabarmati River in the city, is anticipated to begin operations either by the end of this month or in early September.

“Conducting the tender process transparently, the agency possesses substantial sports capacity,” noted SRFDCL chairman Keshav Varma.

SRFDCL authorities stated that in accordance with the terms of the tender, the agency is required to initiate operations within the two-month moratorium period subsequent to the tender’s award. Consequently, the complex is projected to be open to the public by the first week of September.

The agreement bestows a 3-year concession period for operations and maintenance to Adani Sportsline Private Limited, extendable by an additional two years. The agreement entails an annual fee of Rs 1.2 crore, with a yearly escalation of 5 percent.

The complex encompasses amenities like tennis and basketball courts, a skating rink, skating boards, and ample open spaces dedicated to promoting traditional Indian sports such as kabaddi and kho-kho. DeshGujarat
