Vadodara: An unsuccessful attempt was made to derail trains near Itola village here in Vadodara on Sunday night (August 27th) by using a metal fencing pole. The Vadodara rural police have registered a case as the matter came to light when the train did not receive a signal to move forward.
It is learnt that metal fencing poles were planted on the Vadodara-Surat railway line between pillar numbers 380/9 – 380/7 and 379/17 – 379/15. After colliding with the Okha-Shalimar Express, the pole fell down. As a result, the Ahmedabad-Puri Express did not receive the signal to move forward and the derailment attempt came to light.
A senior section engineer has filed a complaint with the police, and the investigation is being carried out by the Rural Local Crime Branch (LCB), Special Operation Group (SOG), and Railway Police. DeshGujarat
