Rajkot: The procedure of shifting of Rajkot airport from the existing old airport site to new airport at Hirasar, 36 kms away from the city has started.

Fire, air traffic control, operational, material and transport, communication navigation and surveillance, commercial, security and CISF – all these facilities will shift to new airport, however Human Resources (HR) and Finance department will continue to function at old airport because buildings for these services has not been built at new airport.

Rajkot airport witnesses operations of 11 flights daily. They shall be shifted to new airport at Hirasar from September 10. All flights on September 9 are cancelled due to shifting procedure. DeshGujarat
