One nabbed from Rajkot for threat to blow Motera stadium during India-Pak match

Rajkot: The Ahmedabad crime branch today nabbed one Karan Mali, originally hailing from Madhya Pradesh and currently residing in Rajkot, for making threats to blow up the Narendra Modi Stadium during the India-Pakistan match. According to sources, Karan Mali is a video blogger who made the threat as a prank. The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has seized various equipment, including a laptop, from him.
Earlier, an email was dispatched to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), containing a threat to blast the Narendra Modi Stadium. Within this email, the individual issuing the threat demanded Rs 500 crore from the government and the release of the currently incarcerated gangster, Lawrence Bishnoi. In response to this threat, both state police and state security agencies were placed on high alert. Subsequently, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch, in collaboration with the National Agency, initiated an investigation into the menacing email associated with the stadium. This investigation led the agencies to a resident of Rajkot who works as a video blogger, and the crime branch took him into custody.
Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera is set to host the India-Pakistan match on October 14. On the day of the match, a large number of well-known individuals from both domestic and international backgrounds are expected to be in Ahmedabad. Consequently, the country’s security agencies are on high alert. Security measures at the stadium have been heightened. The Police Commissioner had earlier announced the establishment of a three-tier security system for the match.
All necessary preparations have been completed to ensure the security of the India-Pakistan cricket match. According to available information, the NSG hit team will be deployed to provide security for this high-profile match. In addition to the NSG team, Black Cat Commandos, CISF, SRP teams, and local police will be deployed during the match to handle any situation.
The threat received by the Delhi NIA via email stated, “Release Lawrence Bishnoi and provide Rs 500 crore, or we will blow up the Narendra Modi Stadium.” Taking this threat seriously, the Delhi Police informed the DGP of Gujarat, who subsequently instructed the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner to enhance security measures at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
