Contractual worker of Taluka Panchayat nabbed by Gujarat ACB for taking bribe

Dahod: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat Police has nabbed an Assistant Programme Officer (working for the State government on contractual basis) at Taluka Panchayat office in Jhalod for seeking and taking bribe.
Accused Mohansinh Katara is 37 years old. He hails from Kharsana in Jhalod taluka of Dahod district.
According to ACB, Katara demanded 10 percent sum of Rs. 42.93 lakh payment to contractor as a bribe for clearing the bills. The works done by contractor were pertaining to a causeway built under MGNAREGA scheme. As a complainant was not willing to pay bribe, he contacted ACB, following which a trap was arranged and accused contractual worker was nabbed after he received Rs. 50,000 bribe as initial installment.
