Forest department files complaint against AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava

Narmada: A police complaint has been filed against Aam Aadmi Party MLA Chaitar Vasava, for allegedly threatening and assaulting employees of the local forest department. As a result, Narmada Police have registered a case against the Dediapada MLA and others. Three people, including the wife and personal assistant (PA) of the MLA, have been nabbed in the case. however, Vasava is on the run.

The complaint against Chaitar Vasava alleges that he threatened, assaulted forest department employees and fired one round of gunshots in air. Later, the forest department submitted an application to the Narmada Police Station regarding the incident. In response to the complaint, the police have initiated an investigation and registered a case under Section 386 of the IPC against Chaitar Vasava.

Narmada District Police Superintendent Prashant Sube provided details about the incident and stated that on October 29, in the Dediapada police station area, the cultivation carried out by farmers on forest department land was halted by forest department employees and subsequently removed. Following this, Dediapada MLA Chaitar Vasava invited forest department employees to his residence for a discussion on this matter.

On the evening of October 30, when the employees arrived at his home, a confrontation occurred with Chaitar Vasava. The MLA physically assaulted and threatened them. He also demanded money from the forest department personnel and threatened them with harm if they did not comply. Additionally, Chaitar Vasava discharged a round into the air.

The day after this incident, the MLA’s personal assistant spoke with the forest officials and arranged for the funds to be provided to the farmers. Subsequently, forest department personnel arrived to deliver the money in the evening. When the forest officials reported the entire matter to the police, a formal complaint was filed on Thursday, leading to further actions.

The police have nabbed three individuals in connection with this case. Among them are the MLA’s wife, Shankutalaben, his personal assistant, Jitendrabhai, and a farmer named Rameshbhai. As of now, the MLA is on the run, and the police are actively searching for him. The police have registered a case under sections related to rioting, assault on government servants, and the Arms Act.

Regarding the incident, BJP Bharuch MP Mansukh Vasava stated, “Forest guards and a forester were called to the MLA’s house, where they were assaulted. The forester sustained severe injuries during the altercation.”

Mansukh Vasava also mentioned that it has become a habit of Chaitar Vasava to assault and beat up government officials. He cited a previous incident in which Chaitar Vasava assaulted a Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) staffer.

It’s important to note that no cultivation can take place without the permission of the forest department. Even though the forest department had instructed individuals not to cultivate in that area, they proceeded with the cultivation, leading to corrective action by the forest department. DeshGujarat.
