DRA Infracon – DMRC JV bags Ahmedabad railway station redevelopment project

Gandhinagar: Ahmedabad-based Dineshchandra R Agarawal Infracon (DRA Infracon Pvt Ltd) has received the contract for the redevelopment of Ahmedabad’s Kalupur railway station in a joint venture with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The project shall be executed through Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode.

It is learnt that a tender for this project was invited in June this year by Rail Land Development Authority. Six companies had submitted their bids. L&T’s Rs. 3,447 crore bid was the highest. Four other companies had submitted over Rs. 3,000 crore bid each, while one company NCC had submitted Rs. 2,786 crore bid. The lowest bid of Rs. 2,563 crore was by Ahmedabad-based DRA Infracon.

On an earlier occasion in May this year when the tender was floated, the lowest bid was Rs. 5,355 crores by Afcons Infrastructure. Due to higher-than-estimated bids, the retender was floated in June this year.
