Ahmedabad: A young woman lost life after she was run over by a private luxury bus belonging to Patel Travels at Shivranjani char rasta in Ahmedabad on Sunday. A CCTV footage video clip of the incident has gone viral. As per the video, a young man riding a bike has his fiance as a pillion rider. Both are not wearing helmet which is mandatory by law. A bike rider stops his bike suddenly as he sees red light signal. But a luxury bus just on his back is in speed and the driver of the bus is unable to stop the bus timely. The driver slightly turn the bus in order to save the bike rider and pillion. But the bus still hits the bike and a pillion rider woman is crushed under the rear wheel. The driver of the bus stops the bus and runs away. A bike riding man immediately pulls out his fiance from under the wheel, but she is dead. What is concluded from this footage is that if the bike rider had not stopped at the red signal just before the zebra crossing and if he had broken the signal, he and his fiance could survive. The bus was in unnecessary speed right at the junction and the bus driver was at fault for not just hitting the bike but also for trying to jump the signal which had already turned red.
