December 28, 2023
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company Limited (GUJSAIL) has leased a helicopter from the Union Government-owned Pawan Hans Ltd after its own helicopter suffered a technical snag just two days ago.
Informing about the development, Cabinet Minister Rushikesh Patel said, ‘Our helicopter, in service since 2007, is experiencing technical issues. GUJSAIL has now made provisions for hiring new contractual staff. In addition to the two planes and helicopter of GUJSAIL, one more helicopter has been leased from Pawan Hans Ltd, which will be useful as an alternative. Strengthening measures will be implemented by GUJSAIL for future system reliability.’
Due to technical glitches, the government-owned helicopter for the Gujarat Chief Minister faced issues on Tuesday, prompting the Chief Minister to travel by road from Bhuj to Dhordo in Kutch. The 16-year-old helicopter has experienced repeated maintenance issues, leading the state government to plan the purchase of a new helicopter at an estimated cost of Rs. 150 crore. DeshGujarat
