Rajkot: Rajkot East Zone Mamlatdar sealed Aaji GIDC-based Amul Industries Pvt. Ltd. and seized its property after the company failed to pay Rs. 1.40 crore worth of wages to over 400 staffers over a 14-month long period. According to Shailesh Chavda, Mamlatdar East, despite of labour court’s order to pay pending wages with 7 percent interest, the company didn’t release payment, following which Rs. 50 crore worth of property of the company at Aaji GIDC was sealed by the Mamlatdar office’s team as per the orders of the district collector. It’s worth noting that while some labourers had committed suicide, the others were protesting to get their pending salary, following which the company had mass transferred the agitating staffers to Tamil Nadu.
