India’s second Formula 1 circuit is likely to come up in Gujarat
January 16, 2024
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has issued a call for proposals to conduct a feasibility study and develop a master plan for constructing an F1 circuit in GIFT City in the state capital.
The timing of the F1 track tender aligns with the rising motorsport fanbase in India, evident in the interest shown by both governments and international franchises.
As the project progresses, it will be the second such circuit in the country after the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Uttar Pradesh. Currently, BIC stands as the sole venue capable of hosting grand motorsport events in the country.
Having a second track meeting global standards would significantly contribute to India’s presence on the global motorsport calendar. However, the project is still in the feasibility stage, lacking a confirmed budget or completion date. DeshGujarat
