Gujarat Vidyapeeth to introduce Internet Radio Channel on March 12

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Vidyapith, a deemed university founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920, is set to introduce an internet radio station named ‘Vaishnavjan – Spandan Gandhi Vichar Ke’.

The station is set to be launched on March 12. In its initial phase, the radio channel will broadcast hour-long programs on Gandhian philosophy each morning. This channel aims to disseminate Gandhian principles to both the citizens of the nation and non-resident Indians.

In another development, it is also learned that the university intends to request the state government to extend scholarships to research students at Gujarat Vidyapith. Currently, the PhD scholarship is exclusive to the state’s public and private universities, and students at Gujarat Vidyapith miss out on this benefit as the institution relies on government grants.
