May 14, 2024
Rajkot: Typically, during times of hardship, one turns to God and prays. However, when the desired outcome isn’t achieved, disappointment sets in. Such disappointment has led to a peculiar incident in Jhiyana village, where the former village head (Sarpanch), enraged with God, set fire to the temples of Ramdevpir and Meladi Mata.
According to the FIR registered with the Airport Police, “Between 1 am and 9 am on May 13th, unidentified individual set fire to the Ramdev Pir temple in the village using tires, causing damage to the idol of Ramdevpir. Additionally, the temple of Meldi Mata was also set on fire with the help of wood found in the temple premises. Subsequently, when Vasangi Dada’s temple was found locked from the outside, an attempt was made to set it on fire by throwing clothes outside.”
Initially, there was speculation in the village that the temples were burnt down by anti-social elements. However, upon investigation, it was revealed that Arvind Sarvaiya, the former Sarpanch, was responsible for the arson. It is learned that he set fire to the temples out of frustration of not getting what he wanted, despite having performed prayers.
The Airport police have registered a case, apprehended the accused, and have begun a detailed investigation into the case. DeshGujarat
