NHAI revises toll tax at Mokha Toll Booth on Kandla – Mundra Highway
June 03, 2024
Gandhidham: Toll tax rates have been revised at around 1100 toll plazas nationwide by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Effective today, toll charges have been increased by 3% to 5% countrywide, including at the Mokha Toll Plaza on National Highway 8A (Extension) in Gujarat.
National Highway 8A is a highway between Mandvi in coastal Gujarat and Ahmedabad. The Mokha toll plaza is situated along the extension of this highway, connecting Gandhidham (Kandla) and Mundra, two of the busiest ports of Gujarat.
NHAI officials have clarified that this toll rate adjustment is part of an annual procedure, guided by fluctuations in the wholesale price index-based inflation. Traditionally, NHAI revises toll charges every April. However, this year, owing to the Lok Sabha general elections, the updated rates have been enforced starting from June 3rd. The decision to escalate toll plaza fees was taken two months following the directive from the Election Commission of India, aligning with the conclusion of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
