Platform no. 4 at Surat Railway Station to shut for 3 months

Surat: Platform number 4 at Surat Railway Station has been declared closed for a period of 90 days starting from June 10. As a result of this decision, passengers traveling on 9 trains, including Tapti Ganga Express, will now have to catch a train from Udhana Junction.
The railways have decided to close the platform due to the construction of concourse. 17 trains are to be affected due to closure of platform number four. During this period The following Trains will be affected, 8 ( eight ) Trains will Originate from Udhna Station instead of SURAT Station and 9 ( nine ) trains will be terminated at Udhna station instead of SURAT station.
Surat Virar, Taptiganga, Surat Bhagalpur, Surat Amrawati, Surat-Chhapra, Surat-Bhusaval trains will operate from Udhna railway station from various dates in range of 10 to 17 June. Virar-Surat passenger, Taptiganga, Bhagalpur-Surat, Amravati-Surat, Chhapra-Surat, Bhusaval-Surat, Bhusaval-Surat passenger, Bandra-Surat intercity, Nandurbar-Surat memu trains will terminate at Udhna railway station instead of Surat.
A temporary ticket window has been constructed on the east side of the station to avoid inconvenience to passengers. The closure of the platform is likely to affect around 3.5 lakh passengers.
