Gandhinagar: Gujarat BJP will hold a meeting on Monday to review the party’s performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls. The meeting will be held at Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s residence in his presence and that of state BJP Chief C R Patil. During the meeting, there will be a review of the results of the Lok Sabha general elections for the 26 seats in Gujarat.
All candidates from the 26 constituencies, along with Lok Sabha in-charges, cluster in-charges, and district organization leaders, will attend the meeting. BJP secured victories in 25 seats, with the Surat seat won by a BJP candidate uncontested, while the party lost in the Banaskantha seat.
It is understood that the review and discussions will cover several aspects, including caste-based equations during polling, shifts in voter sentiment, areas where the party was weak, and why achieving the target of a 5 lakh vote margin was only possible on three seats. Discussions will also include the impact of the Kshatriya agitation that started before the polls.
A meeting of the state BJP’s parliamentary board will also be held at the CM’s residence to select the Mayor and office bearers of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. DeshGujarat
