NHAI to build 7 underpasses, 10 foot overbridges on Mumbai – Ahmedabad National Highway
July 10, 2024
Ahmedabad: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has initiated measures to address severe traffic congestion, accidents, and waterlogging issues on the NH-48 between Mumbai and Ahmedabad during the monsoon season. NHAI aims to resolve these challenges by April 2025 through the construction of 7 new underpasses, 10 foot overbridges, and the repair of 17 accident-prone zones.
Commuters on NH-48 passing through Bharuch experience significant disruptions during the monsoon due to potholes and water-filled ditches, which impact travel speeds and safety. Along with the underpasses and foot over bridges, a 9 kilometers route will be fitted with new Jersey barriers, and 400 new street lights will be installed to enhance visibility and safety.
