Bhuj: Five jail staffers including the Jail Superitendent are suspended after liquor, cash worth Rs. 50,000 and mobile phones(in possession of a prisoner) etc items were found inside Galpadar jail in Kutch district of Gujarat.

The prohibitted items were found during the raid conducted last night by the East Kutch police, as per the directives issued by the Border Range IG Chirag Koradiya.  Large number of police men from various police stations and Special Operation Group had joined the raid.  Two persons were found drunk during the raid. Offences were being registered under the prohibition act and prison act.

Among those who were held with liquor were Manoj alias Pakado Matang, Rohit Garva, Shivbhadrasinh Jadeja, Govind Maheshwari, Yuvrajsinh Jadeja and Rohitsang alias Sonu Thakor. Among them Yuvrajsinh Jadeja is the one who was in limelight recently as aide of suspended cop Nita Chaudhary. An iPhone was also receovered from him inside the jail. Another iPhone was rceovered from a prisoner named Razak alias Sopari. An Android phone was recovered from Surjit Devisingh. A common mobile phone was rcovered from Hitendrasinh. In all Rs. 1,40,700 worth items including Rs. 50,000 cash, chargers and mobile phones were recovered from inside the jail.

Among those five suspended are Galpadar jails’s group-2 incharge superitendent LV Parmar, Subedar RS Devda, Havaldar Pinkesh Patel, Sipai Ravindra Muliya and Shailesh Khetariya. They are transferred too during the period of suspension. DeshGujarat
