Vadodara: Coach B-6 of the Nizamuddin to Trivandrum-bound Rajdhani was detached from the train at Vadodara railway station on Tuesday evening. This action was taken as there was a danger of accident as the undercarriage of the coach was getting hot.
Nizamuddin-Trivandrum Express arrived at Vadodara railway station at half past five on Tuesday evening. The wheel axle of coach B-6 of this train was getting hot. Hence it was decided to separate the coach from the train. This operation took more than an hour. Coach B-6 had 68 passengers.
The passengers were shifted to another coach. They were verified after the operation of shifting and separation of coaches. Then at 6 hours 49 minutes in the evening, the train was given go ahead.
It may be mentioned here that the train was checked at Godhra railway station. At that time the wheel axle of this coach was moderately hot. When it was re-checked at Vadodara railway station, it was decided to isolate the coach as its temperature increased. When the train reached Surat railway station, another coach was connected. Again, the passengers were given their seats in this coach. DeshGujarat
