Devotees can now hoist flags atop Ambaji; Temple trust to sell flags upto 11mtr long

Banaskantha: Ambaji Mandir, situated atop Gabbar Hill, is a revered site for devotees from across Gujarat and beyond. Hosting a flag on the shikar of the temple is a cherished ritual among visitors, and now devotees will be able to acquire the flag from the Ambaji Devasthan Trust for a fee ranging from Rs. 2,100 to Rs. 5,100. The temple trust will appoint Brahmins to perform the Vedic rituals prior to the flag hoisting.

At Ambaji Temple, devotees can hoist the flag through the Devasthan Trust, a service that was previously offered free of charge by registering as a pilgrim at the temple inspector’s office. Starting August 1, 2024, the Devasthan Trust will implement a nominal fee for flag hoisting. Devotees will now need to obtain the flag from the temple inspector’s office and can hoist it only between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Different charges will apply based on the size of the flag. In return, worship will be performed by the Brahmins appointed by the Trust according to Vedic rituals. Devotees will also have the opportunity to take photographs near the world’s largest Shree Yantra, which will be provided to them via mobile phones.

The prices for flags of 5 meters, 7 meters, 9 meters, and 11 meters have been set by the Devasthan Trust at Rs. 2,100, Rs. 2,500, Rs. 3,100, and Rs. 5,100, respectively. DeshGujarat
