A female student hit by truck dies on road in Vadodara; CCTV footage goes viral

Vadodara: A fatal accident claimed the life of a young female student after a truck collided with a scooter at a busy intersection in the Karelibagh area. The accident was captured on CCTV, revealing the moment when the speeding truck struck two girls riding the scooter, resulting in the death of one of them.
Keya Patel, who was driving the scooter with her cousin Jansi Patel sitting behind her, was hit by a truck while they were making a turn at the intersection. The impact caused Keya to fall onto the road, suffering severe head injuries. Despite the quick response from bystanders who rushed her to SSG Hospital, doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.
The CCTV footage shows the chilling sequence of events, where the scooter and truck turned simultaneously at the intersection, leading to the collision. Both girls were thrown off the scooter, with the truck continuing on its path.
It is also learnt that Keya Patel, had recently secured a 10-year visa to the United States, was set to leave for America in a month.
Karelibagh police have arrested the Eicher truck driver, Haresh Gohil, who had been hired by the company 20 days ago. He has been booked under Sections 281, 125(a), and 106 of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, as well as Sections 177 and 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act. An investigation is ongoing.
The speeding truck with the license plate number GJ.03.BV.9454 belonged to Priya Logistics. The company has offices in Vadodara and Rajkot, and this truck is a second-hand vehicle purchased 2.5 months ago. DeshGujarat
