August 23, 2024
Bharuch: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat today nabbed one Salimbhai Ibrahimbhai Mansuri, an advocate from Bharuch, in a bribe case involving a sum of ₹4 lakh.
A case was registered against the complainant at the Bharuch C Division Police Station in 2022, and after the charge sheet was filed, the case was being heard before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Bharuch, with the final arguments pending.
The accused Mansuri, an advocate in the session court, demanded a bribe of ₹5 lakh to secure a judgment in favor of the complainant, of which ₹4 lakh was to be paid today. However, the complainant did not want to give the bribe money and contacted the ACB. Acting on the complaint, the ACB set up a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the bribe.
