Aravalli: With Janmashtami being celebrated across the nation, the famous pilgrimage destination in Gujarat, Shamlaji Temple, is aglow with beautiful, colorful lights. As devotees throng the temple for Janmashtami, a laser light and sound show is being organized there. A video of the show has gone viral on the internet, showcasing the temple beautifully illuminated.
A laser projection show depicting the history, significance, and religious stories of Shamlaji Temple was launched a few months ago. The laser projections are displayed on the temple structure, including its Shikhar, during the evening hours after sunset. This creates a stunning scene with colorful visions of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shamaliya, making it a unique attraction. A wonderful sight unfolds at the temple as the colorful form of God and the music of devotional songs captivate the minds of the devotees.
Shamlaji, located in Gujarat’s Aravalli district, is an important Hindu pilgrimage destination dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple complex, believed to have originated in the 11th century and expanded during the 15th and 16th centuries, features ancient sculptures, including a seventh to eighth-century statue of Lord Vishnu and a sixth-century statue of Lord Shiva. The area around the temple contains ruins of older structures and artifacts, highlighting its historical significance. Additionally, a fourth-century Buddhist site and a prehistoric microlith site nearby enhance Shamlaji’s archaeological value. In the sixth century, it was a prominent center known for its exceptional craftsmanship in sculpture, with many artifacts now preserved in museums throughout India. DeshGujarat
