Torrent Power, Gujarat govt ink MoU for 5 GW Solar – Wind Hybrid Park in Dwarka

Ahmedabad: Torrent Power Limited on Monday submitted two pledges to the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy at the fourth RE-Invest event in Gandhinagar. In the ‘shapath patras,’ the company aims to achieve 10 gigawatts (GW) of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030, with an investment of Rs 57,000 crore.
This initiative is expected to generate around 25,000 jobs. As part of the plan, Torrent Power signed an MoU with the Gujarat government for a 5GW solar, wind, or hybrid energy project in Dwarka district. Additionally, Torrent Power is exploring green hydrogen opportunities to help decarbonize industries. The second pledge involves establishing a green ammonia production facility with a capacity of 1 lakh kilotonnes per annum (KTPA), involving an investment of Rs 7,200 crore and creating about 1,000 jobs.
